Not just a campaign. It's THE campaign.
Delta's 100-year anniversary wasn't just a campaign... it was the campaign. The emotional centerpiece for their entire centennial year. Our challenge: honor a century-long legacy while inspiring pride across the organization.
The intro
When Delta Airlines approached us about their 100-year anniversary, we knew this wasn’t just a campaign. It was the campaign. The emotional centerpiece for an entire centennial year. This anthem would be the first impression at leadership summits, in internal comms, and across global audiences. It had to honor a legacy, inspire a workforce, and make people proud to wear Delta on their chest.
The ask was big. The stakes were bigger. But we don’t just step up to those moments. We live for them.
Key challenges
The Original Plan Was Grounded – Airports are some of the most secure, regulated environments to film in. While the shoot was originally planned for Boston Logan International Airport, we decided Atlanta would offer more flexibility in access, stronger logistical support, and better alignment with the narrative vision. Pivoting the shoot to Hartsfield-Jackson allowed us to move faster, stay compliant, and capture more dynamic footage right at the heart of Delta’s home base.
Tight Timelines – Filming at one of the busiest airports in the world meant shot opportunities were more limited. With travelers coming and going, aircraft (aka our set) getting moved around, and tight security regulations, we didn’t have the luxury of time with every shot. We had to recognize and capture each shot when the opportunity arose.
Shooting at the World’s Busiest Airport – Filming at ATL meant operating on live runways, under strict FAA regulations, and with government oversight. Access, safety, and approvals had to be airtight.
The solution
Pivot To Atlanta – Our team re-engineered the entire shoot plan for Hartsfield-Jackson in a matter of days, locking in production windows with Delta’s internal teams, airport authorities, and union reps.
Seamless Match Cuts & Split Screens – We blended archival footage, historical aircraft, and modern-day visuals into a cinematic anthem. From WWII-era engines to present-day jet turbines, our editing team built transitions that honored Delta’s evolution.
Collaboration with the Greats – Working with Viola Davis, we refined our script to meet her iconic tone and delivery. Our team also collaborated with Hans Zimmer to craft a custom arrangement that could rise and fall with the emotion of the film.
The results
The video premiered at Delta’s Centennial Leadership event inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, earning such a strong reaction that leadership asked to watch it again during rehearsals.
“This made me proud to work here.” That was the phrase that kept coming back. For a 100-year-old company, that kind of emotional alignment is priceless.
Why it matters
This project wasn’t about just checking the boxes and delivering a final product. It was about leaning into a century-old, ever-evolving but never-wavering mission. It was about capturing pride, progress, and purpose. Our team had to think like filmmakers, operators, negotiators, and problem-solvers.
And the way we see it? That’s where we thrive. We hear it over and over again from our clients: “Working with Creative Filter is like making a smooth U-turn.” We take the complicated, the frustrating, the time-consuming, and we make the process seamless.
